Sal's Forum Newspaper - September 2008 - Letter from the Editor
Welcome to issue 12b. I'd call it issue 14-1, but I'm a little
superstitious. While many of you were out enjoying yourselves in these
wonderful few months, you'll find the paper staff have devoted many
hours to creating yet another issue of the paper. Hopefully, while 12b
is an unlucky number for some, it won't be for the paper

This Issue at a Glance
Howdy.
This issue is jam-packed with articles and tidbits that you will certainly enjoy. For example, RuneScape's Economy: To Be Free, Or Not To Be Free?, by Sho Minamimoto, talks about the effects on previous RS Updates and how that played out on RS increasing the money needed for Membership Subscriptions. Speaking of RuneScape, Desireful took the time to write Whatever Happened To The Monster Database?, which tells you how the Monster DB, as of late 2007 had no activity, and is now home to a good amount of people consistently submitting in data on the various creatures of RS. And in spirit of getting back together with your friends at school, you may be in need of a good social network. Why don't you read Facebook vs. MySpace written by Topdog, practically noting out the history of both popular networks and each network's features. Well obviously, those aren't the only good articles in the paper, so be sure to read all the other interesting pieces that the newspaper team have written and worked on!

Quotes of the Month
Adam?: Guys, I just invented a game called competitive masturbation. It requires skill, athleticism, and gets your heart rate up. Is it a sport?
Andyana: I hate pacifists, if they really wanted wildy back they would send mail bombs to Jagex or something.
Keldo: Finally [Pokemon] shirts that will match my Digimon pants and Yu-Gi-Oh haircut.
Swlitch: I want to live past 65 and play Runescape when I'm retired so I don't smoke and don't plan to. I'm 19 now so I could do it legally.
Wingedsorcerer:
To tell you the truth [The USA elections have] been getting MORE
coverage. I've not seen much about the British general election but a
ton on the American.
Stobbo: That
might have something to do with the fact we are not having a general
election.
Dani: Simply teenagers that can't seem to find how to download porn and have to channel their energy in an alternative way.
Stobbo:
Your
missing out on the whole social networking revolution.
Dani: wtf is
social r u using big words to maek fun of me
Agent F:
I
have never cried about any game with the exception of when I was a
small child. Games are for enjoyment. If I no longer enjoy the game, I
just stop playing, but I don't ever cry about it.
Man: Dude,
real men cry. Holding back the tears during an emotional quest doesn't
make you tough. Also, when you and your best mates are engaged in a
fierce battle with the KING BLACK DRAGON and one of them dies, it does
not make you less of a man to mourn the loss of a brother in combat.
No, you must get in touch with your sensitive side otherwise you will
continue down this slippery slope. First it will just be Runescape, but
then you will find yourself emotionless when something momentous
happens. Like when George W. Bush ends his second term. I know I will
be crying that day. How about you?
Agent F:
Real men don't cry about a game. If a friend of mine died in real life,
sure I'd be sad and I may even shed a tear. I don't typically cry in
life and I am not holding back. It just doesn't happen. Why would I cry
about a friend dieing in game?
Me: Hey,
seen you die. I'll bless your tombstone.
Him/Her:
Okay, cool. I'll be there in a few minutes.
As for George Bush ending his term, I cannot wait.
-Dad-:
Very
funny and original, and excellent quality at that. I don't see how
others can be so critical.
I'll give you a 9/10. Keep up the good work!
Easaki: Hmm,
have you even looked at the picture, you used to be cool...
-Dad-: Oh
right, I forgot the

Sods:
Don't
mean to be rude, but Nascar racers don't really have much skill. All
they do is press their foot down and turn left. So how could Kyle
Busche be super human? Unless he goes flintstone style and uses his
feet to sprint the whole race, which would indeed make him superfast,
superstrong, and superhuman.
Grand: I
don't like Nascar or anything, but it takes skill to be a racer. Being
a car for multiple hours in very hot vehicle and concentrating on the
road and making precise turns takes skill.
123Man:
You
shouldn't have posted a pic... You had this supreme aura of coolness
about you that a real picture could never live up to. Now you've
revealed yourself and even though the picture is super-cute with dreamy
eyes that would melt anyone from age 1-100 with nary more than a blink,
hair that looks to be woven from golden flax on a loom of the god's,
and a demeanor that seems to say "Yes, I'll help you with what you
need, as soon as I finish building this house for the poor," it can
never measure up to...wait a sec...
Well played, Venom. Well
played.
Topic:
Are
you a virgin?
Fshi: No,
I'm a Gemini.
Un0:
Lol!
It's just a word though, I don't see how a word "caused daily problems
to the social life of Lesbos's inhabitants"
Reno: If
anything, it should have enhanced their social life
123man: Is
that emote meant to be just a smile at the end of your comment or a
depiction of enhanced said social life?
Dad:
I wish
my mum was magic.
Gillis: She
is in some places ;D
Neo Avatars:
...Doom, Stobbo, heb0 and Pixel Bunnie on becoming our two newest
Distinguished Members! They've proven to be positive members of the
community, and we are happy to welcome them with open arms. Make sure
to send your personal congratulations to the four of them!
Prince Caspian:
Aren't there four? O_O
Marigold:
(In reference to Neo's member title) Because Mathmagicians ≥ Neo
Avatars.
Twist of Fate: If she's a bunnie and has an egg pip, is she the...
