Interview with Pandaleu - By: Dawesbr

Pandaleu is an old member of Salmoneus' forum who quit after over 2,500 posts, and has now returned. She is leader of the clan Party Pete's People, and is currently making a Salmoneus flash-game.

Thanks for taking the time to do this interview, Pandaleu.

No problem at all.

So how is your clan, Party Pete's People, faring nowadays?

It's going great actually, many people are joining each day it's amazing to watch the clan grow like that.

How did you find starting a new clan?

Well it took a lot of patience, nobody joined for the first few days, but it got more and more popular and it just grew really. The key to it is patience.

How long did it take before you started getting lots of members?

I think it was around a good month when we got really popular, but we were going steady before that.

How did you achieve the flow of members?

After about 9 months I sent out emails to every member who hadn't logged in for a long time, and after they replied, I either placed them into inactivity or deleted them on request. Although in the middle of the process, we had a cracking incident and I made a completely new forum. So we lost a lot of members at that time, which was kind of an inactive sweep of it's own.

What's the hardest thing about making and sustaining your own clan?

I think punishing people actually. I'm one of those nice people, i mean in the rules it sounds strict and mean but when it comes to punishments i usually give them a second chance heh tongue.gif

Do you have any big parties coming up?

Well I've been very occupied recently so I can't make any parties, but lots of members are allowed to create events of their own, so that's good.

How about real life, anything interesting going on out there that you'd like to share?

Well I've tried out some new hobbies like drawing/flash to have fun with. I always stick with playing the drums though. That's my most favourite thing to do, I'm part of a band as well!

Cool, have you got any recorded tracks, or is it just for fun?

Not really, we are in the early stages but when we get working I'll release some to the forum.

I'm sure the readers will anticipate that! As a few people already know, with your new flash skills you are making a Sals-based flash game, do you have any spoilers or extra info for us on that?

Well I hope for it to be kind of an adventure point and click. Going through a series of clues, throw in some easter eggs and put forum jokes in there too. I don't want to release any plot storylines though, you'll have to work that out yourself!

It sounds great! Have you found it difficult to make so far?

Very difficult, sometimes it can take up to 4 hours to fix a tiny problem. But I suppose I learn from my mistakes and improve my skills to make another game in the future.

I know how you feel. Do you have any sort of release date planned?

Not really, I try to work on it as much as I can but as I said earlier I have been occupied. I'm really excited about releasing it though so I hope it is soon.

It sounds as if you really think it is worthy of praise, so I can't wait. Now it's time for the random questions: What is your favourite movie, book, and food?

Kill Bill, The Da Vinci Code, and of course, every pandas favourite food, bamboo.

Who is your favourite member on Sal's?

Ooo that is a tough one but I'd have to say Hutton, a.k.a Sir/Lord Auron. He's been a massive friend to me for a long time and we have the craziest conversations, always out for each other. And best buddies even though he is 3 years older than me and we have never met either.

Anything you want to say to anyone?

Um...HELLO MUM =D

Could you tell us why you decided to leave the forums? I'm sure a lot of people were sad to see you go.

Aside from needing a break to get on with life, I didn't enjoy some parts of the community, and the forum jokes. I was sick of all the people speaking "liek dis an mocking chemicalzezimarocks666" No-one let the joke go and I got sick of it. Although I still see it now, I secretly rant in my head and ignore it tongue.gif

Why did you decide to return?

Well what can I say, I realised that even though I had to put up with some immature people on Sal's, I had learnt a lot here. Tech, pixelling, graphics, it's all here. Also cause I missed a lot of people here. It's pretty hard to stay away from Sal's for long tongue.gif

smile.gif Thanks for taking the time to do this interview, look out for it in the Salmoneus' Newspaper.

Can't wait already, it's been fun. I almost feel famous, haha.

Interview with Unknown - By: Youhei

Today we'll be interviewing Unknown, great GFXer and Sals Newspaper Team member.

Hello! How are you today?

I'm fine thank you. How are you?

I'm fine, thanks for asking. As many of us know, you are a great GFXer, when and how did you get introduced to doing graphics?

Well, I saw many great artists such as CookTheChef for instance. This was my first turning point is graphic design. (Not that I am great or anything) Artists from around Sals had influenced me. And I started GFXing!

Is there any artpiece(s) that you are specially proud of?

I must say, I am very proud of my latest pixel,

How did you came across Sals?

I came across Sals one time googlewhacking. I cannot remember which exact words I googlewhacked but I came across Sal's RS forums. It seemed like a great community so I joined!

Is there anybody you treat as a role model?

On Sal's RS forums? I do not treat anyone like a real role model simply because there are many people I look up to. I like to improve myself all the time and a role model would only cause me to become corrupt and end up wanting a staff position or something.

Time to talk about real life! How old are you?

I'm currently 16, born on the 6th of the January 1992.

Whats your name?

Matthew Theobald, I actually really hate my name.

What are your hobbies?

I enjoy graphic design, gaming, mountain biking, surfing and much more. I think that is why many people enjoy my company (I think). I enjoy so many things I'm quite easy to get along with.

What is your favourite food?

I enjoy spaghetti carbonara personally. I've always loved italian foods.

Do you have any favourite books?

The Harry potter series and Lord of the Rings trilogy is my favourite.

Do you like to watch television programmes?

Not really, I only use my computer because television bores me.

Do you hate your parents?

I do hate them.

Why?

As they find ways to torment me between themselves.

Do you eat at fast food restaurants?

On rare occasions, I do eat at fast food restaurants.

Do you like to go out or just stay at home?

I like to go out when there are things to do or people to see, if not I prefer the indoor life.

This is the end of the interview! Thanks for sparing your time for this interview Unknown!

Thank you! I enjoyed the interview.

Interview with ZacharyB - By: Youhei

Today we will be interviewing ZacharyB, member of the Sals Community and a member of the Sals Newspaper Team.

Hello Zach! How are you today?

Very good, thanks for asking.

So, how did you get to know of the Sals Forum?

I have used the site since I was a little newbie and just last year I noticed there was a forum there so I joined.

What do you think of this community?

I really like the variety, each person brings something different to the forum.

Anybody on this forum that you treat like a role model?

Hmm..... No one I can think of actually. People who are active in the community I guess, and that help out a lot. I have no specific person I treat like a role model though.

Is there anything you like specially about the Sals Forum?

The guides on the site have more of a personality to them, other than just telling you what to do. And I just like the people here, which is probably why I've stucked with the community.

Time to talk about RS! How did you get introduced to Runescape?

I heard some people talking about it at school so that night I went on the Runescape website and made an account.

What do you like about Runescape?

I like how its not set to one storyline and and there's a lot of things to do. There's more to do than just go through 10 or so levels and fight some lame boss at the end.

Do you have any good friends in Runescape?

Yep, I'm around in a clan chat 90% of the time in Runescape. I'm on RS with some of my best friends.

What do you do in that 10% of that time then?

I'm either hardcore training and don't want to talk to people or I'm just in the mood to be alone.

What is your favourite skill and why?

Cooking, because its a very relaxing skill.

A little off-topic but do you like to cook in real life?

Eeeh, sort of. I don't really know how to cook much, but I also find it relaxing.....Except when the smoke alarm goes off.

*laughs* Now time to talk about real life! How old are you?

I'm 13 years and 2 months old.

Are you a bad boy, teacher's pet or normal boy in school?

Normal boy, I try to blend in most of the times tongue.gif.

What is your hobby?

Writing and guitar. Along with the normal stuff, TV, video games and all that. tongue.gif

What is your favourite food?

It has always been a toss up between spaghetti and cheese pizza.

Do you like to sleep?

Who doesn't? Its a pain to get up in the morning though.

Thanks for sparing your time for this interview Zach!

No problem wink.gif.
