Artists Spotlight - By: Unknown
For this months review I decided to choose: "Metroid" by Tig

This signature created by Tig is a great piece. The first thing to be noticed would have to be the immediate color & vibrancy. The use of C4D images in this piece really sets off the glowing colors. The use of Technicolor's really sets this piece into its own theme. Looking past all the colors you can see use of lighting and shades. This defines the signature more, however it could be said that there does need to be a little more depth.
The render and focal points help this signature alot, they give the piece its definable edge. Definitely a good choice of render.
When going over and looking at this piece of art it makes a certain mood. Its hard to say exactly what the mood is... Given the choice probably Active/busy would be the best way to describe it. But anyway, onto the rating.
---------------------------------------
* Productivity: 3/5 - It's a good small piece, It shows alot of potential.
* Creativity: 3/5 - Good use of color and vibrancy to set off the whole piece. Really creative!
* Color: 3/5 - Your use of technicolor, gives more to look at.
* Theme: 3/5 - The theme i can see is Technicolor, you achieved this very well, however there is always corrections to make!
* The piece: 4/5 - Looking at the piece you have done an outstanding job. Really inspiring to look at.
--------
* Overall: 16/25 - Great for an overall score! A few things let you down, but knowing progression you will do well.
Thank you for reading, I hope you enjoyed this months review.

Faking Groups - By: Easaki
If you don’t know what a faking group is, you’ve either been living in a hole or just don’t know where the fake forums are. Faking groups are sort of like clans, but instead make fakes together; there have been a few extremely successful ones, and a few downright rubbish ones. I hope to explore all aspects of these.
A faking group comprises of a group of like minded people, intent on creating fakes using other people’s talents. The fakes usually involve complex NPC design, epic photo shots and "witty" comments. The word usually is used with caution.
This paragraph has to be reserved to the starters of faking, Omega and Fantastic Fakers. Those were dark times, horrible things were still happening. With Beret still faking, spam swamping the forum, and easl joining! At first, the two groups struggled against each other, trying to outdo each other. Fakers were joining each group, and then trying to outdo themselves. Thankfully, a unknown sensible forumer, made them see sense, and the group we know today evolved.
Another group worthy of mention is the Royal Fakers, these selfless chaps make fakes for people with suggestions, and these include staking in clan wars. The group seems to also count any fakes made by members as a group fake, the moral implications of this are interesting, but no harm done.
The two latest fake groups: Easaki and Poison Splat. Poison Splat is owned by UltimateArco. They have yet to release a fake, but have our backing and will hopefully get round to one soon, I have insider information that the next fake will be a political statement on the hierarchy of Sals. Easaki, split the name in half and you have the owners, and the first fake, featuring a delusional faker and his, er, rock worthy crew.
Possibly the biggest, most helpful group has been saved till last. The GFK (Group faking kit) seemed to be unhappy about Beret’s guide. This group, founded by Kev the Kiwi is communism at its purist. A guide which is constantly updated, full to the brim with font, templates and advice on faking. In fact, there is only one user who doesn’t apparently use it, I wonder who that could be…
However, fake groups have not always been rosy examples of faking perfection. There have been many attempted disasters, the most recent being started by your truly. The Creative and Co. faking group was a selection group, failing before even draft screen shots. Another example is the Banana Nut Muffin group, coincidentally by the late Banana Nut Muffin, the group consisted of a few pages of spam from omega rejects.
Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this article; I’ll be back next month with the affect of faking competitions!

Da Scotsman thoughts on his fake
Easily one of my best fakes and arguably the best. The idea came to me soon after the trade limit update. The lack of autoers was a pleasant change but I was sure RuneScape had not seen the last of them. It then suddenly dawned on me that I could fake an autoer hiding in an amusing place. There in lay the problem. I thought of all sorts of things, falling from tree, in the bank vault, in the cage with Zammy mage but none of these I thought were good enough. A few days later while harpooning I noticed that for a second the harpoon animation looks similar to your character pulling an invisible person out the water. Then after a brief moment of faking genius I had my fake. From then on it was quite simple. I made the chatbox first which thanks to the excellent Group Faking Kit was no trouble at all. Then came the screenshot and I edited in the autoer in the water. Then came the hardest part which was making the autoer in my inventory. This itself took the good part of an hour as it was the first time I had ever made a new inventory item. But after much swearing and pressing of the undo button I had my autoer. It was then just a matter of putting all the pieces together which again thanks to the Group Faking Kit was very easy. After posting I received very positive ratings and them not much later the same fake helped me win the 'Fake or Die' competition. I'm extremely pleased with the fake and hope I can think up even better ideas in the months to come!
