Interviews
Someone left the interview tap on for too long and now we're overflowing with interviews. But that's not necessarily a bad thing. There are four interviews with our forum's members. ZacharyB interviewed Lilshufan4lyfe, Doomcreator0 interviewed Anonymous Joe, Mrcsupertrain interviewed Adam?, Youhei interviewed J 1995 T or as he is known on this forum, JT Dude and he also interviewed Jdamon588 again for the second part of the interview. We have one other interview with someone who is not a member of the forum, Doomcreator0 was lucky enough to find Jagex Mod James H and he had the chance to interview him. Enjoy!
Interview with Lilshufan4lyfe - By: Zachary B
Lilshufan4lyfe (also known as Cougarsrule9 on Runescape) is one of Sal's lesser known members, but still an interesting one at that. After a ton of mishaps in organizing, we finally got to this interview.
Hi Lilshufan4lyfe. Thanks for being able to join me in this interview.
No problemo Zachary, glad to be here.
Lets start with your Runescape account? What's your favorite skill?:
Well, if quests were a skill those would be it, at the moment im really into hunter (93 ftw).
Cool, what was your favorite quest?
Hmmm, a tough one that a lot of people ask me...probably Rfd (Recipe for Disaster), because of the variety, and because I did the final battle at a lower combat then most others.
What level?
76!
Are there any levels you want in RS, other then 99 hunt?
I'd like to get 60+ in everything, and maybe a cape to trim hunting once I get that...but that's a while off still im a bit lazy and like to jump around alot.
What's your encouragement to your goals?
My encouragement is a couple of different things. I have a friend who's around 85 combat and already has 2 99's, and he's very inspiring to me because of all the work he's put into those 99's that I don't think I could ever do, I also am encouraged by friends of mine who are leveling the same skill or show up randomly at Feldip and cheer me on.
Is there an important role you have in Rs?
Well..I'm a general in Canting Away is that important?
Sure, what's it like?
It's fun, I love Canting (the Clan Chat I go in), they keep me in a good mood and hang out with me when im bored, they're also the reason I still play RS constantly it's hard to leave such a good group of friends behind. Clan Chat has probably got to be the best thing Jagex has thought up yet.
I agree! Now can we have a general idea what's been going on in real life?
My real life like the one outside the computer ?!
Yup!
Well, lets see...I've been moving around a lot and finally getting settled at my sisters apartment has been annoying =/. I went to a job interview before logging on today and I start Wednesday so that's exciting =).
What job?
An Assistant Teacher at a kid's learning center, perfect for my future career (becoming a teacher).
Awesome! So you've gone from Merchs Cariad, to Lilshufan4lyfe. Why the odd names?
Lol, Merchs Cariad was a dare from a friend. He said if I changed my name I would get a Dds and this was back when I was sort of poor and thought a Dds would be nice =). So I changed my name not knowing you have to wait like 90 days or something to change it lol.
And Lilshufan4lyfe, I just did because I wanted to bug Lilshu <3. I, at one point, copied some of his entrys and his blog title name just to annoy him. When my next name change comes I think I may go back to just Cougarsrule9 like my Rs name =).
Lol, Is there anything else you want to tell us about Sals, Rs, or real life?
Reaver and I are working on a pilot episode of Salcast, it should definitely be worth a listen.
So, since I'm sure some members don't know (like me), what is the Salscast?
It's a little discussion with a side of music and laughs. It has had 5 episodes but kind of died out Reaver decided to try and revive it, so Merch Gwyar wrote us a pilot script and Reaver and I are recording.we hope to live up to and surpass the old Salcast. =)
What are you going to do different?
Reaver is the genius behind all this, but we are going to try to make it more fun and more personable than the old one, and we hope to keep it going longer then before. Also a lot of people miss it and had suggestions about it that never got heard we hope that we can answer them.
What are some of your hobbies in real life?
Obviously playing Runescape but I also like to read a lot, watch T.V, hang out with my boyfriend typical girl stuff 0_o. When its not 4 inches of ice and snow outside, I like to ride my moped around and honk at people. =)
What's your favorite song?
Wow...that is tough. I have a reputation for serenading Canting, but almost every week I have a new song..right now I really like "Stop and Stare" by One Republic and "Bubbly" by Colbie Caillat because a friend of mine and I sing it together! <3
Alright, is there anything else you want to say before we close this interview, or are we done here?
I think we are done. Thanks for the Spanish inquisition it was fun. <3

Interview with Anonymous Joe - By: Doomcreator0
![]()
Well today, I took the time to talk to Anonymous Joe so we could get to know him a little bit better. You can see his profile here, and his DeviantART here.
So, how was your day today?
Alright, easy day at school as it is every Monday. I've spent most of the night on Unreal 3 and Call of Duty 4.
Cool, what system(s) do you play on?
Call of Duty 4 on the X-box and Unreal on the PS3.
What other games do you like to play?
Mass effect is hawt. I really like my RPG's and Mass effect is probably the best. For PC my weapons of choice are Guild Wars and Counterstrike although I sometime play World of Warcraft on free servers.
Do you play online for any of the console games? If so, what names do you go by?
Kaadre jokes around that I don't play enough online. Although I'm gonna change that around. For 360 I'm Asphalt Lizard and Playstation Network I'm AnonJoe.
Besides those games, are you still active in Runescape or have you retired from it?
Well at the moment I don't play. I'm at a love hate relationship with Runescape. An update I think is good comes out so I put members on, although I only use about two weeks of it and feel it was a waste. So then I stop. If I weren't on Sal's, I'd probably never play because I wouldn't track the updates.
Speaking of Sal's, why did you join in the first place? Did it stand out to you in any particular way?
Well my mate Dale (or Lil_Dwk) got me into Runescape back at Christmas 2004. He'd showed me Sal's before I joined because we'd mess around with the Buddy Kit's in it. Later in July I joined up and decided to flaunt my Buddy Kit powers in the Comic section with Andy.
You, Andy, and Kaadre are now running the Time Paradox Kit 2wo now, a buddy kit that you guys created using pixel art?
Yeah, but the Time Paradox kit wasn't mainly a Pixel art thing. The style is, well a poor attempt at chibi. We've all taken a liking to the chibi and manga art in the last few months.
Do you read any specific mangas?
Not really. I used to be into animes like Pokemon and Digimon, later on DragonBall Z and Gundam Wing. The first two I found childish and were running short of ideas. The latter I'd still watch today although I've seen all the DragonBall Z and Gundam Wing didn't fuel my love for Mechs as much as I thought it would.
You are also a graphic artist doing both pixel art, and GFX right?
I guess. I haven't done Pixels in ages because I can't think of what to do. I did a couple of Graphics signatures which were pretty good for a first. At the moment I'm getting into doing Cartoons.
What got you started in them?
VG cats <3
Do you have a favorite issue or character?
Leo is full of win. Especially in his Cameo in "The super awesome Parody rangers 3" on Newgrounds.
Do you have any other interesting hobbies that you would want to tell us about?
Hmmm, apart from the whole art scene, I wouldn't say so. I'd class Video Games a as hobby but last time I said that I started a flame war. I guess I blog occasionally. First rule of that is: Try to make it witty and interesting.
Well is there anything else that you think we should know about you before we conclude this interview?
Hard question.
Check out for any work I post in the Graphics section in the future. Uncle Joe wants your CC. >:0
Well thanks for taking the time to have me interview you.
No problem.

Interview with Adam - By: Mrcsupertrain

Hello Adam, how are you?
My avatar says I'm happy.
Have you ever been interviewed before?
No, and I am quite sure this will be the last. I wonder why you have just decided to lose your sanity.
I had nothing better to do. Let's begin. How long have you been on Sal's Realm Forum?
I started off on the first forums, and joined around April or May of 05. At that time, I was just another Runescape weirdo. Now I'm an anime and Gorillaz weirdo. Oh, how things change.
Why are you still at Sal's Realm Forum, not that I am expecting you to leave?
I honestly don't know what Sal's does to someone, but for some reason I just can't leave. I've tried (and failed) numerous times to do so, and officially "suck at leaving".
What annoys you the most on the forums?
Suckups, and people who decide that they are the almighty protectors of Sal's Realm. The kind of people who, when confronted with trolls, decide to 1) take them seriously 2) try to teach them a lesson and 3) try to "save Sal's" from the troll scourge.
What do you enjoy the most?
Blogging is the greatest feature on Sal's. No true regulation; a Scape Lounge to the extreme.
If you could change something beyond your control on the forums, what would you attempt to change?
I would remove the "Distinguished Member" and "Tech Support" groups. I honestly don't understand the point of this, as Moderators could just as easily be taken from the pool of members. To me, it's just a way for people to pat themselves on the back whenever they see that pip. The Tech Support group is just silly. Why not have a "Book Reviewers" group or "Debaters" for people who excel in both? ![]()
What do you think about RuneScape?
I just wish I had time I lost back.
When did you become interested in anime?
Well, back when Youtube was not owned by Google and not afraid of being sued, I came across a video called "Love Hina 1 1/3". I had no idea what it was, and I can't remember how I found it, but I watched the entire series in a few weeks, enjoying it in the process. Pretty random, I know. Then, months later, my real life friend recommended Death Note, which got me hooked onto the drug called ANIME after episode 2.
How did you feel during the time when people said you were obsessed with it, including how people may treat you today?
At first, I found it annoying. I felt that, before I was the Gorillaz obsessed guy due to my avatar. Then, I started talking about anime and had a creepy-emo-red-glowy-eye-evil avatar from Death Note. OMG HES AN ANIME NERD!!! It doesn't bother me anymore, but I am always quick to point out that I am as obsessed with anime as anyone else is with regular television. Now, it's just another label that people have to put on people.
What are your feelings on panda sex?
I refuse to intrude upon Stobbo's fetishes.
When did you start playing basketball?
Around second grade, but it wasn't until fifth grade that I realized I could become very good at it. I thank the coach who boosted my confidence when everyone else shrugged me off as having only one skill: height. I'm 6'8'' right now, so I can see where they get the idea.
Wow, you're tall. What do you enjoy most about the sport? What do you enjoy the least?
I love the competitive nature. It's up and back, with a lot of scoring in between. I love posting up, being able to take advantage of my size and score while being beaten in the process. I love the way that, unlike other sports, when you score you can't celebrate. Just go play some defense. I hate how a lot of referees are sizist. ![]()
What's it like working for the newspaper at Sal's Realm?
It's the equivalent of a Chinese sweatshop. Make comics, make comics, write stories, write stories.
Do you ever find it stressful or annoying working for the paper?
When people orgasm over comics that are simply very pretty. (Dr. Lento) Nah, probably when everything is submitted, and all I can do is wait for the higher ups to code it and send to Sal. Oh, I also hate waiting for Sal to upload it. Such a lazy love child.
Why do you work for the paper if you never get paid and some members don't even read the entire paper once released?
Good point. I quit.
What kind of writing do you do?
When I was younger and actually had an imagination (high school sucks that out of you), I wrote fantasy. As many of you have seen in Seclusion, that doesn't happen any more.
I'm working on a series called Dream Catcher which is a story that personifies our subconscious selves.
What type of writing bores you the most?
Writing that is just vague symbolism after vague symbolism and requires you to analyze the text. You know, the type of crap we are forced to read at school. I read to enjoy, and if someone has to explain the symbolism to me, it doesn't exist.
What is your blog like?
The Harmonic Door is a collection of intelligence, stupidity, randomness, anime, lame banners, and Japanese characters all rolled into one. *Insert blatant advertisement*
How do you feel that your blog has the most comments?
I feel that people commented a lot when my entries weren't really about anything. Comments are about as important to me as post count, which I tried to have removed.
Do you ever regret making some blog entries before?
The one where I announced I was leaving, AGAIN, made me feel like a total idiot. If I ever decide to leave this forum, I'll just disappear without notice.
How much privacy do members have in their blogs, in your opinion?
Even with the most popular, you still only have 10+ readers, and you usually feel comfortable with who they are. I believe that blogs are your own little corner of Sal's where you can truly be yourself without worrying completely about who is watching. At least that's how I feel.
You've been quite outspoken sometimes with issues on the forums, and that's a feature a lot of people don't have because of fear of being warned or losing the chance of the promotion. Do you ever notice other people like that and how do you feel about yourself?
I'll admit I was actually trying to become a distinguished member at one point. Silly of me, I know, but that's why I'm outspoken now. Saying what you really think about people and issues definitely limits the chances you have of being a distinguished member or moderator. That's important to many people, so even if they do say what is on their mind, they decide to sugar coat it. There are a LOT of people like this on the forum, and it bothers me a tad. I feel that I am a good member of this forum, and no pip color is ever going to change that.
Do you feel that there are some members deserving of a promotion they haven't received?
There are some people that, I believe, deserve a promotion but do not fit the "mold" that this forum has created for those positions. Instead of picking people who would be a good addition to staff, the people promoted are truly treated like an upper class, where acting dignified is one of the requirements for getting in. It's a mark of status to be a distinguished member, and then once you have proved you are "worthy" you can move up.
Would you ever model nude for artwork?
Depends, are you drawing? ;D
Do you feel that there are some staff members, including Tech Support and Distinguished Members, who do not deserve their current position?
I feel that both of those groups shouldn't even be in existence, so in effect, all of them. I can't say anything for or against mods, as I have no idea about what they are doing.
Have you ever wanted to tear down a member or members, to point out everything wrong with them, why you dislike or possibly like them, etc.
I've said flat-out that I don't like certain people and why, and I've done the same for people I do like. If it weren't for the pesky rules, I would probably go around being painfully honest to people, but not in an attempt to insult. I've restrained what I've been about to post from time to time.
What would you do if you found a genie lamp?
Try to make beautiful women appear, because I am obviously dreaming.
Where did the idea of a question mark (?) in your display name come from and why do you still have it today?
The idea was random and all it does is make it annoying when people are talking to me. "Hey Adam?."
I still have that blasted thing because a) it's unique and b) because it's technically against the rules, and I'm such a rebel. ![]()

Today we are going to be interviewing J 1995 T, master of fishing. (Sals Name: JT Dude)

Hello J, how are you today? Are the fishies getting pwned again?
I'm feeling good today, would be better if I got a barrows item and yeah, I'm still pwning fish!

Well, Bandos godswords are coming down and its a beautiful morning over in England.

Indeed I am
.
What motivated you to get 99 fishing?
All my friends, and people actually at the fishing colony, there was a lot of them that got 99 before me.
You felt left out?
Yes, *laughs* but there also was a lot of people worshipping me when I was around 93 Fishing.

Well, basically when somebody says "fishing lvls?" I were to say 94 and the next thing I know people are saying 'oh my gosh' awesome. add me etc...
Got your godsword yet?*
Nope, haven't got a godsword... I have bought bandos tassets and a normal saradomin sword, that way I get to keep Guthans
.
Are you going to go for 200 million fishing experience?
Ehmm, as much as I like fishing I think the milestone would end around 75 - 100m experience.
Do you have a particular favorite thing you like doing on Runescape? (DON'T SAY SKILLS)
I like to monster hunt a lot, I also like to go to the god wars's Bandos Lair and kill the Bandos God, but I don't really want to buy Veracs so I'll wait till 'm 70 ranged and then I'll do the karil top verac skirt method...

. How old are you?
13
What is your favorite book?
I don't read books.

Disturbed or Raise Against they're both awesome
.
Thank you for your time, do you have any shout-outs to anybody? By the way, continue pwning sharks!
Yeah! No Life 666 is a noob!
*When I was doing the interview, he had to go halfway, so we did this the next day and the next day he bought the godsword

Interview with Jdamon588, Part 2 - By: Youhei
Hello Jdamon! How are you since the last time I interviewed you?
Fine, thanks. And you?
The same as you, before we start asking the main questions, I'd like to ask, when the issue was released and you were in it, how did you feel?
I thought it was cool, just to be respected enough to be interviewed, and get my name out in the Salmoneus's Runescape Community.
Okay, lets start. How did you feel being a clan leader? Were you the founder of the clan?
No, I wasn't the founder of Odyssey (the clan's name), I was one of the first members though, and after a couple of months I was promoted from Council to Co-Leader. Being a leader was cool, It was nice to try to set up a good standard in the clan and to motivate the clan and keep the morale up.
Were there any cons in being a leader that you absolutely detest?
One thing that bothered me was having to deal with people that don't listen, I tried to be as fair as possible, and always took advice from my Co-Leaders and Council clanmates, but some people didn't get it and sometimes it ended up being very tense and creating controversy, obviously no one wants controversy but sometimes it is just that unavoidable, other than that, I couldn't think much of what I disliked.
Well there are cons and pros, what were things you especially liked being a clan leader?
Of course, getting respect, I also liked being able to make decisions that could help the clan, I tried not to let that matter get to my head though, and of course most decisions were made democratically, so the whole clan had a say in major decisions. It was really a great experience being a leader, there were ups and downs.
Do you have any tips on being a clan leader?
Don't be too demanding and don't do things for yourself, do it for the interest of the clan.
What was the clan's name?
Odyssey.
Well, seems like you had fun
. Now, time to talk about real life! Are you a teacher's pet/a troublemaker/just the average type of student in school?
I'm somewhat quiet during class, but not a teacher's pet. Most teachers like me, but I don't kiss up. I jus try to make good grades, so average.
What do you like to eat?
Mostly stuff like pizza, burgers, junk food. Just like your normal teenager.
Do you have a hobby in real life?
Right now I'm really in to writing. I plan to major in journalism and become a sport journalist, so right now I have a sports blog, I also do fantasy sports.
What is your favorite book?
I like the Lords Of Rings trilogy, I haven't read a Harry Potter book in years but I liked that, the last one I read was the fifth book. I would have to say, excellent book!
Do you think staying up late at night is cool?
Nope, anybody who uses it must be a noob ![]()
Well thank you for your time! Hope you enjoyed this interviewing session!
I did! Thanks for yours.

Interview with Mod James H - By: Doomcreator0

Well hello everybody! Today, I had the rare occasion of finding myself within the vicinity of quite a few Jagex Mods! I took this rare chance and conducted a semi-informal interview with Mod James H! Please note that it was difficult to get 1 on 1 questioning with Mod James H, and that there were many others piling him with their queries as well. I hope you can find out what some of the Jagex Mods are like. ![]()
So Mod James, why are you all here in Lumbridge dropping pink skirts?
Oh nothing really. We just came here to have a party just to celebrate the awesomeness of RuneScape. ![]()
So, how is it over at Jagex? Is it fun working there?
Well lets see...I would describe Jagex as a large castle. And Jagex Castles are ftw.
I'm loving it. It's a great job.
What part of Jagex do you work for? Quality Assurance? What?
I work for Customer Support and I'm here to help you lovely lot. ![]()
What is your favorite band?
Hmmm....this is a hard one. Green Day.
Really?
Wait, there's more. Creed is cool as well. I also like a band in the UK called The Finest Hour. They are just starting up but I like them. Linkin' Park as well, yes.
What is your favorite sport?
Hmm...another tricky one. Martial arts tbh. Ever done Aikido? Ever hear about Steven Seagal?
Unfortunately, I have not heard of those. Sorry! Do you like Andrew Gower? Is he a cool guy?
Andrew is very cool. ![]()
Do you still play RuneScape regularly?
Yes, I have a level 94. A bit nooby. ![]()
This one is a bit silly, but can Mod's shoot laser beams out of their eyes?
Hmm...laser beams. ![]()
This concludes my brief interview with Mod James H
