Interview with Gazisere - By: Mrcsupertrain

Hi Gazisere, how are you today?
Extremely amazing! In fact, at this moment of time, I couldn't be happier , so you got me at a good time.
How awesome! What's amazing about today?
Well, I really liked this girl, who quite a few Sals' members know about, and today we spent all day taking about my little sister, and then amazingly, at the end, we're now going out!
Aww, how sweet. Well, good luck with your relationship. Now, let us get down to business with this interview. We'll start off with some personal questions. Where are you currently located?
South England, behind my laptop.
Do you enjoy living in England?
Yes, I do. If it wasn't for England, I wouldn't have met my girlfriend. I love how everyone is football (American Soccer) mad, especially in my city, which is just great.
What is your school / social life like?
At the moment, my social life is amazing. My school is awesome because of the people who go to it.
What's your strongest subject in school? Weakest?
My strongest is Math and my weakest is Science.
Are you studying any foreign languages?
No, I did, though. I dropped out moving into year ten. It wasn't an option I want.
What was the language you were taking?
French.
What is the average price of cabbage in England, particularly in your area?
I have no idea. I would guess about a £1.00, but I have never bought a cabbage, to be honest.
Well, that completes the personal part of the interview. Let's move on to RuneScape. What is your account like?
I would say it's awesome, although I suppose that's biased, as it's my account. It's not really any type of skiller. I just train skills when I feel like it.
What are some of your best skills?
Fishing first, then fletching, and then cooking. They're all 99s, but I have the most experience in those skills in that order. I would also like to include magic, as that's the one I enjoy doing the most.
What's the most amount of money you've ever had?
About 15M.
A while ago, you borrowed some money from your friends to help achieve 94-Magic. What was it like trying to pay everyone back?
It still hasn't been done. It's annoying, trust me, never do it. Although, the final payment isn't really needed in a rush, so that is a good thing.
What famous players have you met / seen?
I've met Novalyfe, I speak to Yogosun now and again, I know Albert2006xp (8th in Construction), and I know Priscilla44 (1st in Smithing).
What is your lowest skill?
Hunter.
Is there any reason Hunter is your lowest skill?
I haven't had time to do it much.
What is the average birth rate between Kalphite Queens and King Black Dragons?
I have no idea. o.O
Well, that ends our RuneScape portion of the interview. Now it's time to talk about Sal's Realm. How many guides have you written?
A few, only a few were good and unfortunately only one accepted.
If you could delete one subforum, which would you choose?
Debate section, I don't really like debates.
Do you have a blog? If so, do you actively blog?
I have one, although I don't actively blog.
What about a log? If so, what is your log like?
I've tried logs, but while fishing a lot is what I like doing, it doesn't make them very interesting so they normally die.
For a while in your signature, you requested for people to start calling you by your first name? Why is that?
I just would like to be known for who I am. For example KingOfMonra will join #novus and people will be saying Hi Chris and Yuanrang people would say Hi Jan and I would just like people to do that for me. ![]()
How often do you change your signature and avatar?
Not very often, I normally get it updated but I am really fond of my current ones.
Am I sexy?
Uber shexy. ![]()
Did you enjoy your interview?
I did, thank you very much!
You're welcome. Well, that completes the entire interview. Thanks for reading and make sure you ... oh, hello, Neo Avatars, what can I help you with?
In response to Gazisere's reply about cabbage, a quick look on a Supermarket website puts the price of a Green Cabbage at £0.88, Red Cabbage at £0.85, or a White Cabbage at £0.60. A different Supermarket puts Red Cabbage at £0.78 or a White Cabbage at £0.84. A third Supermarket puts Green Cabbage at £0.99, Red Cabbage at £1.29, Savpy Cabbage at £1.09 or White Cabbage at £1.19.

Interview with Merch Gwyar - By: Doddsy1992
Merch Gwyar has been a member of Sal's Forum since the beginning of this year. She currently has one of the most viewed blogs on Sal's and is the owner of the chat channel 'Canting Away'. She is also a mod of a Pagan community forum
Hello Merch Gwyar. It is a pleasure to be interviewing you, how does it feel to be interviewed for the Sal’s Realm Newspaper?
Hello Audioworm! It's an honour to be asked.
What do you think of the paper and what made you apply?
I think that the paper is very informative and entertaining, which is precisely how it should be. I've worked in newspapers IRL and watching what's happening behind the scenes at Sal's newspaper, I'm impressed by the organisation and delegations displayed. There are some very talented people on the staff, who put some of my former colleagues to shame.
I applied because I had someone *glances across the table* trying to talk me into it every time I logged onto RuneScape. I was persuaded that it might be interesting and, indeed, it seems to be just that so far.
Let’s start firstly with your addiction. RuneScape! How did you find RuneScape?
In a pub. ![]()
Ok, some background. It was December 23rd 2006 and we'd just broken up for Christmas. I left work to meet with friends for our own Yule drinks. Everyone around that table was aged between 34 and 40, yet they all played this computer game called 'RuneScape'. I was completely in the dark about it, a self-confessed workaholic, who had recently had ECG tests because the stress was damaging my health.
Over a couple of pints of cider, things were arranged so that I could go on Sabbatical from my responsibilities elsewhere, which left me at a loose end. I decided to go and check out this 'RuneScape' that everyone was going on about.
The name Merch Gwyar can be considered ‘unique’ does it have any meaning and if so what made you pick it.
It translates from the Welsh as daughter of Gwyar. *pre-empts the next question* Gwyar is one of the earliest known names of Morgan Le Fey. (Morgan itself being a title: 'the sea priestess' (Welsh) + 'the fairy (French).)
I can't say that I put a great deal of thought into the name, as I wasn't expecting to be staying this long. I had, however, just been reading a collection of translated historical documents from the Old Welsh, which might explain things a bit.
What do you enjoy most within RuneScape?
My favourite thing is not planning or having goals. I frequently do have short-term goals, like getting all skills over a certain level or doing such and such a quest, but I'm learning now to stick with what I love. I just like drifting from a bit of ranging here to just knocking up those steel bars over there... oh! And I'll just nip to pick a bit of flax, while I'm here.
All of this naturally in line with the fact that I'm supposed to be learning how not to be a workaholic. Drifting and wandering are good.
Despite this do you have any long term goals within RuneScape?
Yes, to eventually rearrange my house more sensibly.
Now onto Forum matters, how did you find Sal’s Realm of RuneScape and the subsequent Forum?
Same as practically everyone else, I should imagine, searching for quest guides. They are excellent guides and the lay-out of the site doesn't crash my computer like some of the busier RuneScape companion sites do.
After a guide had saved me from certain death (several times), I showed my thanks with a small donation to its upkeep and, a little while on, noticed that Sal had thanked me in the contributors' list. I was surprised enough to explore beyond the guides and thus found the forum.
For some with relatively low posts you have one of the most viewed, and considered interesting, blog on Sal's! What do you think it is that made your blog so popular, and any tips to pass onto a rookie?
Mrcsupertrain is possibly to credit for that. He wrote a wonderful post in his blog, all about a great blog he'd found with hardly any comments in it. I read that and resolved to comment, as he asked, then reached the bottom and found that he was talking about mine!
*slips a few yew logs into Mrc's bank* My blog just erupted after that, which startled me a bit.
I guess that I don't really write with a purpose. I enjoy writing and so the blog is written for me. It's been a while since I last just wrote for fun, so I'm playing nicely in there doing that.
Tips? Perhaps don't endeavour to record everything that happened or just logs of levels. RuneScape is so diverse and interesting that there's bound to be just one event, conversation or something witnessed that's worth the telling. Tell about that and then slip in at the end that you got a level or whatever. It results in a more interesting blog for other people and also gives them something to comment about, beyond all the best wishes and congratulations.
Also, remember why you look at blogs. Before I had one, I searched it for extra information on quests; that was more personal than the guides allow. This is why I describe the quests that I do.
Which subforum(s) are you most active in, and why?
Ermmm....
I don't think I am. I've been known to check the questions, but people usually get there before me. I've also been known to dive into the fun section, adding to stories or answering questions. I've very occasionally nipped into the debate bit. I read more than I respond, to be honest.
Are there any subforum(s) you are particularly inactive in, and why?
Graphics. I've only just worked out how to take a screenie and crop it; I haven't the knowledge or skill to go further. I do enjoy looking at the fake screenshots though.
Are there any people from Sal’s that you admire or respect?
At the risk of having rotten fruit thrown at me, I'd have to say all of the moderators. This is because I've been there and got the t-shirt. I know what an impossible, time-consuming and mentally draining job it is, so I admire the fact that they manage to keep such a beautiful atmosphere on the forums. Even when the drama happens, it's quickly nipped in the bud and life continues. That's a hard thing to do.
Now onto your real life (you can’t hide from it)! From previous entries many will have realised that you are Wiccan in your beliefs. Could you explain what this means to those who don’t know
It is a Pagan religion, which is short on dogma and not evangelistic. The whole world is our sacred place, which negates the need for a fixed building in which to worship. The simplistic version is that most Wiccans recognize the Triple Goddess and the Horned God (they are antlers, usually). It is a nature-based theology, which draws upon the energy of the universe, though specifically the Earth, seeing as we're on it.
Did that answer the question?
Just about
How do your beliefs affect your everyday life?
In practical terms? Other than the observance of the Sabbats and Esbats, it's given me a lot of responsibility that I didn't have before.
In spiritual terms, it has taught me to value everything living.
You have often claimed to be semi-fluent in Welsh. What is it that has made you so fascinated to Wales or Cymru?
Most of my ancestry is Welsh and I've been back and forth over the border all of my life.
What are your favourite foods, Television shows and bands?
Italian food, particularly pasta dishes. I don't tend to watch much television, so I'm struggling a bit there. Bands... I could go on forever. Syd Barrett (with Pink Floyd and solo), Manic Street Preachers, Maximo Park, all the bands on the 'Queen of the Damned' soundtrack, Billie Holiday, Janis Joplin, Bjork... I'm going to see Carter USM in November. There's a very long, eclectic list of favourite bands and artists.
If you were put on Death Row what would you do? (apart from fight for your innocence)
Call Amnesty International, then the British Embassy, in that order.
Thanks for this insightful interview, which has told us more about a moderately unknown member of the forum, Merch Gwyar.
