Interview with Princess Sjd - By: Mrcsupertrain

Hello Princess Sjd! I would like to thank you for your time.
Your welcome!

How did you find out about Sal’s Realm of Runescape and its forums?
I found Sals Realm from Google. I was stuck with a quest and needed help. About 4 months later I noticed the forum button, and as I have been on many forums before, I decided to join.

What are your thoughts about the war in Iraq?
I don't really know much about the war, or why it is happening. I keep reading about people getting hurt and killed. I wish they could have found a way to resolve the problem instead of using violence.

What are your thoughts on the political issues in the Middle East and the world?
I have no idea what the political issues are there, I am afraid. The newspapers I read here have not mentioned them. The political issues here in the UK, again I do not know. Everyone is too busy talking about Celebrity Big Brother than to talk about politics sadly.

Have you traveled to any other countries?
Nope, never. I would love to though. I have not had a holiday for about 10 years and am trying to arrange a holiday for after I graduate next year. But because I have the worst passport photograph ever, I may not be able to due to being embarrassed!

What is life like in Scotland?
It's pretty dull, to be honest. I live in a small town, where there are no such things as secrets. But my family live here, and that is why I would never leave.

What is the current season right now?
It is winter at the moment, but the weather is slowly changing and it will be spring (my favourite season) soon.

What is the daily weather like at the moment, as of January 29, 2007?
Really bad lately. Massive rain downpours and bad wind. But the weather has been calmer the past few days, so hopefully the worst is over.

Is there anything in Scotland that is unique or different than from other countries?
I don't really know. I guess it would be the fact that us Scots have always been really good inventors and entrepreneurs. We also have the loch ness monster and deep fried mars bar. Not many countries have them lol!

Living in Scotland, is it true that the people wear nothing under kilts?
It depends on whether or not they are a true Scotsman lol! If they are, they wear nothing under their kilt.

What is your favorite food? drink?
Favourite food is anything with chicken in it. I especially love chicken curries, or chicken and rice soup. My favourite drinks are Irn-Bru (Scottish made drink) and Coca-Cola.

What is your favorite television show?
The Simpsons. That TV show is really well made. It appeals to all ages, and even after so many seasons, it is still funny. I also love Ugly Betty and Lost.

What was your childhood like?
In all honesty, it wasn't good. School wise, I did well with my studies but got bullied for being the "clever" one. I also lost my Mum to cancer when I was seven, which affected my badly as I was a total mummy's girl. But luckily I had a great family who, although my childhood was not the best, made me happy as I grew up.

What do you like the most about Runescape?
The fact that there are no blockages or limits. Many games tell you to complete one mission, then go to the next. You have to do things in an order. If you got stuck with one part, tough. I like Runescape due to the fact that one day I can start a quest, and the next stop halfway through and train a skill. There is nothing stopping me from doing what I want.

Do you think JaGeX releases good updates? What have been some good ones and what are some of the bad ones?
I think they release some fantastic updates. But there always seems to be someone who hates them. My personal favourites are the Construction update, as I find this a great skill, and the Treasure Trail update that happened quite recently. It is nice to have some new items to find from clues. The worst one I would say is the graphics change of the interface. The icons still look childish to me. I liked the old layout.

Have you ever thought about achieving level-99 in a skill?
I have thought about it a lot. I would love to have the level 99 skill in Fishing, Construction and Cooking. They are my three favourite skills.

You seem to like berets, according to pictures of you in your blogs. Do you like the current colors? Would you like to see other colors?
I really do love my three berets. They go with a lot of outfits in Runescape. I love the three colours available right now but I would love to see other colours. A red, green and yellow one would be nice. They made lots of different coloured boaters, so why not different coloured berets?

Your blog is very popular. As of January 27, your blog contains the most comments and is in second place for the most views! Did you ever expect this?
Nope, never! I never expected people to read it lol! I take it as a compliment - it means I am doing something right if people like my blog.

What were your thoughts when blogs first came out?
I thought it was fantastic. I noticed the update before it happened, as they had the Blog button made before the actual blogs. I spent half the night clicking on that button hoping it would work! I did have doubts as to how many people would use them, but I am glad to see I am not the only one who is updating it regularly.

What don’t you tell us in your blog?
Just minor, boring little details. If I said every single detail like "I woke up, went to the bathroom, got dressed, brushed my teeth, had breakfast" people would get bored of my blog real fast.

Who in real life knows about your blog? Anyone?
No one. If they did, they would read it and find a fault with it and give me into trouble lol! I prefer that they don't know - it's like my secret diary. Only not so secret!

Do you prefer boxers or briefs?
For me, briefs. If you’re talking about for guys, then boxers.

Do you think there is a secret relationship between Winnie the Pooh and Tigger?
Tigger and Winnie are just friends, there is no secret relationship. Although there could be one with Winnie and Rabbit...

Interview With Laker Kobe - By: jamie6441

Lakerkobe is a well known Sals Runescape Player. He got his reconnigtion from his Runescape Log that he post pictures of all the accomplishments and drops he does in runescape. He constantly Updates it and gets wonderful comments everyday it seems. The Reason why his log stands out it because Laker seems to achive something everyday and don't seem to stop. Laker's Log topic have been active for over a year has about 32,000 views and over 1,100 replies making possibly the longest running topic, as well as with the most views and replies. Till this day it still remains: ~!~ Lakerkobe's Lovely Log ~!~

Q.Well to start off the Interview Kobe what made you start your Log? and was it your 1st Log ever?

I knew you were going to ask me about my log. Link to Log
The main factor that made me begin the log was the great log of Shadowkid's at the time. I thought it was a really awesome idea, so I went for it myself.

Q. What has been the most rewarding thing of having a Log that has survived over a Year?
Definately all the friends I've made. A lot of my friends know me from the log.
I also cherish all the wonderful comments viewers have made.

Q. Do you ever feel someone would try to attempt steal your account or scam your things if they see your log? Would you?
Nah, I really don't think too much about the possibility of someone hacking my account. I've kept my account very secure. Besides, you guys can back me up if someone tries to sell my bank/stats/account, right?

Q.When you started your log what was your level?
I think I was around level 85.

Q.I am sure people are reading this and asking...FREE STUFF PLEASE? Have you ever given out things to random people?
No free stuff for you! I don't like giving free stuff to begging strangers, so go to Camel Run instead. He has paid for all those Slam Ice Colds and still owns a Phat, so he must be super rich!

Q.I am sure we would all like to know what makes your log so Lovely? Lovely comes from my charisma and... ok, it was just made up. I tried to make a catchy title, so I used alliteration.

Q. You must have done something before you got all these amazing drops and treasure trail rewards what did you do for cash before?
I used to smith Steel Platebodies, then sell them to the Horvick's plate-armour shop in Varrock.

Q. At this stage in your RS Career do you ever have thoughts of quitting?
Definately, seeing I have a lot of other stuff to do, too.
However, my friends and Sal's have kept me going.

Q. What are your Current Goals?
Right now, I'm aiming for 99 Slayer.

Q. Has your log ever almost "died" before?
On the second page, you can see that I bumped the log from Feb. 11th to April 22nd. (with permission of Camel Run, of course) It used to be a barrows-only log (replica of Shadowkid's), then I decided to make it a log of loot.
Currently, the log is starting to die because I haven't been as active as I've been.

Q. Since you have made the log have you ever had to go back to f2p?
Nope, member since March 2005.

Q. who do you go DKing(Dagannoth King hunting) with?
I've gone DK'ing with many, many partners. To name some (trying for chronological order):
Shadowkid (warriorboi), Melenkor, Burn, Purple Venom, Wa, Muggiwhplar, Stupidnoob, and Blondeguy.

Q. Would you be willing to go DKing(Dagannoth King hunting) with me.
No!
Yes.

Q. Do you own a fire cape? If not do you plan to get one?
I have a fire cape.
Conquering Fight Caves

Q. When and at what level did you obtain your fire cape?
Level 108, Friday, July 7th, 2006. I used the date on the screenshot.

Q. Do you have any tips are links to in helping people obtain a fire cape?
1) Good Connection
2) Don't Panic
3) Watch Prayer.
I used Guthans, but there's a lot of guides out there that show equipment you can use.

Q. While online do you ever get spamed by fans?
Yes. I thank you all for the support, but it gets annoying when you beg for free stuff after complimenting me.

Q. Have you ever been scammed before?
Yeah, here's two:
1) Zamarok Wine Altar Scam during my first month
2) Someone traded me a full inv. of oak logs for my tutorial island runes, because they were supposed to be worth 200gp each.

Q. Was Lakerkobe you 1st account?
My first account was Lakerman3, but I abandoned it after I was scammed with the aforementioned oak logs.

Q. Is Lakerkobe your only account?
Only active one.

Q. What is your secret to your success?
1) Don't give up on a goal
2) Be friendly and courteous
3) Behave maturely
You'll find that it will eventually pay off.

Q. For the lower leveled Players do you have any Tips on other ways of money making?
It seems the best method right now is to mine iron or coal or cut yews if you are F2p.
For P2p'ers, flax-picking/herblore ingredient collecting seems good, too.

Q. For the higher levels do you have any tips on anything?
1) Runecrafting is a really good moneymaker, even before double nats. ;)
2) For the risk takers: Staking/Pking/Bosses
3) Dk'ing and slayer are the least profitable professions ever! I'm doing it so you don't have to!

Q. I know some people don't Like to use Pest Control for their levels. Do you use Pest Control?
I used Pest Control for 85-94 Strength, and that's it.
If you use Pest Control, I neither support or deny you. It's fantastic experience, but gaining exp along with slayer is even more rewarding, in my opinion.

Q.How long have you been playing Runescape?
2 Years (Since December 2004)

Q.Do you have a fan club? If so can I be President?!
I do not have a fan club, but if I do, then I'll give your request a thought.

Q. Do you have any rares? If so what do you have and how many?
I currently possess two(2) green masks and one(1) santa hat.

Interview With Oniyoh - By: Monte Kyle

Hello Oniyoh, it’s good to have you here with me. I’d like to give you a personal welcome and congratulations for your promotion as the newest Distinguished Member in Sal’s Realm of RuneScape. Is there anything you’d like to say before we start?

Well it's good to be interviewed, though I don't know why exactly you would want to pick into my brain. And thank you for the congratulation; I was shocked when I became a DM.

So let’s all get to know you a bit, when and why did you first join Sal’s Forums?

Well... this is more of a darker story, but I will freely tell it. What happen was in real life my family was really hitting the rocks and the whole "unity” had been torn apart. Parents are divorced and they were fighting over my brother and myself through an incident that happened to me a while back and had been amplified to this whole big dilemma. And well, I got suicidal at the climax of it and was admitted to a ward. When I got out, I was thankful to have shows on again and was able to have free roam of my life, so I did something I hadn't done for ages, logged onto Runescape. I played for a bit and sure enough, I got more interested in the game.

So I looked around and searched the internet for things for me to read and I found Sal's. I looked around the forums, read some of the guides, and joined after about three or four days of prowling the realm. I believe I joined some time in July or June. Look at my account and you'll see the exact date.

You’ve been using the same avatar for a long time, something I’ve never been able to accomplish, what is its significance to you?

Ah, that old thing. Well I needed to get an avatar because I was getting bored of just having a name and no avatar. So I PMed Zed Doomstar, whom I just befriended and I asked him, with his experience with GFX and such to make me an avatar. The markings themselves are Norse runes that express good-willed emotions and traits. It really made me happy to have a well-done avatar, by a good friend of mine.

I think this question could very well be on everyone’s mind. You like to use a royal bluish color for the text in all of your posts, when and why did you start it?

Ah my infamous blue text. I decided to start writing in blue because blue is my "signature color" that people have come to know me by. I always liked to be identified with the color blue so I decided to make my text blue some time around January. Blue has always seemed to be the "best" color to me, even though my favorite color is emerald green.
I have been known, with a few of my friends, to dye my hair a neon blue and my other good friend, dyes his hair red and we have a Red vs. Blue kind of thing going. I also have blue eyes, my RuneScape character has long blue hair, my school colors are gold, blue and white, "I'm Blue" by Eiffel 65, is the music of the gods, I write always in blue ink, and I am in the process of adopting a light blue, useless blob.

So blue is just who I am. Kind of like my user name "Oniyoh"

When you open up Sal’s, what is one of the first things you do?

Check my PMs if I have any, then head to the debate room to see how the flaming debate is going.

Where are your favorite places to post, and why?

I love posting in the debate room, it's a place where I can come close to flaming a person without getting a warn. I also love to see from other people's perspective and have a "battle of the wits" among some of the most intelligent fourmers on Sal's.

I also love the General Discussion, I like to read some of the more "noobish" topics about how Zezima is a girl and how Hunting is teaching kids to be violent killers, things like that. I guess it could be safe to say, where there is a topic for me to debate, whether Runescape, life, or whatever; I'll be reading the topic.

There is not too much I can say, I am just drawn to the debates.

In your experience so far, what would you say is your favorite aspect of belonging to Sal’s?

Friends, there is no doubt in my mind that is my favorite thing about Sal's. No matter how good debates may be, or funny the topics are. I always value my friends from Sal's as the most valuable thing from Sal's.

Ever since I made my first friend , Mr. Slayer and then Zed Doomstar, then Julz and the list goes on and on. I have felt more and more accepted in the community.

I have had people Message me from Sal's and just chat with me and talk about random stuff. I love it too, if I am not busy doing something. I really do like the unexpected "Hey Oni!" Or in some cases "Oni j00 n00b giv m3 fiv mil1!?1!on3!1" Makes me feel like people care and I have spent a couple of Mini-games with some good Salians. I remember fondly, the crazy four-hour Barbarian Assault game with a few good Sal's people.

Then there are the crazy noobs on #Novus who are just the funniest people I have come to know. I love the friendship there, the spamming and the "Adult-friendly" topics.

Then there are those few friends that I have cherished: Un0 and Blondeguy. I am not saying they are the best, or that they are better than everyone else. They are just the two people who I have come to know as great friends. Blonde is the kind of guy who I can talk about the stupidest topic in the world with at three in the morning. And Un0 is the kind of person who I can be a complete noob with in IRC, but be discussing religion in MSN. Those two are great, besides the fact they both freak me out sometimes. ^_^

Sheesh, I type too much, sorry about that. Friends are my favorite thing to belonging on Sal's

What type of video games do you typically play, and why?

I love RTS computer games. The idea of leading an entire army on a conquest of a map is great! I have played Age of Empires, Warcraft 1, 2, and 3 and all of the expansions that go along with it, Starcraft and it’s expansion, and of course Dawn of War and all of it’s expansions.

It gets addictive, ever since I was in the fourth grade and led my Orcs across Azeroth in Warcraft 2, I have loved RTS games. There is so much strategy involved, so many funny little cut scenes and such and yes, I love it when you completely surround a base in towers/turrets/or whatever. And ensnare your opponent in their own base.

I hear you are interested in the game capture the flag. It is indeed a very fun game to play, care to elaborate on that for us?

Ah, I use to be a part of this summer camp and among most of the games we played, we played capture the flag. Now, we had experience playing this game for a couple of years so really it was like an “Elite vs. Elite” match, and what was even better is the camp consular gave us a wooded area to play in. Needless to say we were setting up little ambushes in the woods and capturing a great deal of people. I always loved capture the flag because it is about teamwork, cunning and of course tactics. I always love thinking well.. tactically.

Does your interest in video games at all correlate with your interest in movies? What is your favorite genre?

YES! I love a great action movie! The Patriot, Kiss of the Dragon, Hero, Tears of the Sun, Star Wars, Starship Troopers and all of the Alien and Predator movies are great. But I also like some comedies, Like Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, Clerks 2, The Rush Hour series, Kung Fu Hustle, and of course, Kung Pow. (We all knew the French were aliens. )

What is your all-time favorite movie, and what is the best movie you’ve seen recently?

To be honest, I don’t have a favorite movie. There have been great movies out there, and I can’t really pick one to be my favorite. Now that could change completely if Hollywood decided to make a Warhammer 40k movie and did it well, that would probably be my favorite. I am also looking forward to seeing 300, that looks like it will be a great movie.

Now, let’s get into something very interesting, how about them good old cartoons?

Those good old cartoons where great! They taught you everything you needed to know in life and then some.

There was a great amount of sexism in those shows and they girls being womanized where always redheads. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, April was a red head and she never exactly did anything in the whole show, all she did do was get captured or fall ill or something along those lines. And even then, TMNT was by far an interesting show! It leads me to ask this: Why is it when you dip something in radioactive waste it mutates becomes a super hero, like that actually happens in real life! No when you jump into radioactive waste in real life, you get cancer. What are the cartoonists trying to teach to kids!? “Hey kids go jump into radioactive waste and become a mutated reptile who is a master of karate!” What was with the Shredder? He was the big ninja with the all of muscles and a nice, sharp spikes and blades jetting out of his shoulders, and all he did when confronting the turtles is press buttons and run away.

Then we have Daffney from Scooby Doo who was always captured and then tied up by the evil villain. What exactly they did to her during the time in which she was tied up is beyond me, and will let everyone else draw conclusions there. I never understood the villains’ mindset in those old cartoons, what compels a person to make some intricate plan that involves a ghost/monster/whatever and scare away people? No, If I was a villain and Scoob and the gang came for me, I would shoot them. Why don’t any of the villains seem to get the idea that if you have a gun, you can get rid of those meddling kids. And what’s with that catch phrase? “I would have gotten away with it to if it weren’t for you meddling kids!” If I was captured I would have said, “You kids wait until I get out, then I will find you!” Like it would be that hard anyway, they drive in a psychedelic van that of course has the clever title “The Mystery Machine” Who calls their van that? That is like me calling my car “The Roadkill Maker”

Why was it that Scooby and Shaggy were so hungry? You know one or more of them had to have smoked something because they were in a constant state of the munchies, and they must have been doing something else besides a little bit of Mary Jane because they never gained weight!

Then there are the Smurfs, the little blue creatures that live in mushrooms. What always seemed to puzzle me is how the dark wizard Gargamel never could get those darn little smurfs. Didn’t he ever think that instead of an elaborate plan to capture the smurfs he could just walk into their little mushroom patch of a village and just crush the smurfs? What did he have against the smurfs!? It’s not like Papa Smurf came in and stole his precious gems or like the smurfs committed a crime against him, they couldn’t even reach the door! Even if he did succeed and captured a smurf, an accomplishment a three year old could probably do, what was he going to do with them, eat them? And why is It there was only one female smurf is all of Smurftown?

What was your favorite cartoon to watch while growing up?

I loved Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The though of radioactive shelled creatures where awesome, plus I digged the turtle based puns, and constant action.

If I walked up to you and said “Earth!” very loudly, would you know how to respond? FIRE!
WIND!
WATER!
HEART! (Even though it isn’t an element)
And then we would summon the greatest hippy hero every since Scoob and the gang, Captain Planet. Captain Planet was one of those shows that just made you want to go outside and litter. They always had some kind of moral dilemma over pollution and of course the polluters were some disgusting looking people who had a insane obsession with polluting. Who honestly goes through their life saying “Holy crap, I am going to pollute!” Then Captain Planet is summoned and he somehow reverses a natural disaster and gives some inspiring speech before phasing out of existence.

After the planeteers were done saving the day by summoning Captain Planet, there was always that great Public Service announcement at the end, which had nothing to do with the theme of the show. There would be a show about air pollution and go about doing a PSA about recycling. What really gave me a chuckle was a Captain Planet Episode I saw that was about gang violence… now what the heck does gang violence have to do with the environment!? At least I saw Scoob and the gang in the ghetto they portrayed in the episode.

What would you say was your favorite television action figure?

I loved my Power Rangers. Yes I owned Power Rangers…

If you could revive any three shows back onto television, what would they be?

Hmm, well Cheers, because sometimes you want to go were everyone knows your name. Captain Planet because I need to laugh at the hippy based themes, and Transformers: Beast Wars, because Waspinator was the coolest transformer, he spoke in the third person.

I understand you’re a pretty active RuneScape player too. Before we wrap this up, why not give a shout out to your fellow clan members?

Hey Pat, Aka, Ankou, Brooks, Baka, Range, Hex, Gaanja, Stevey, Da_shredda and the rest of you crazy Hatebreeds! Power through the brotherhood!
