Sal's Forum Newspaper - Oct - Nov 2006 - Letter from the Editor
It's the Second Issue of the Newspaper. Yup, we're still here, we actually made it past the First Issue. So... welcome to the Second Issue, the Late October - Early November Issue. We got lots of stuff for you to read, do, see, and laugh at. How fun was putting it all together? Here's a great quote that will show how fun putting together Issue 2 was, "Nobody ever committed suicide while reading a good book newspaper, but many have while trying to write one." -Robert Byrne. Instead of grabbing a bowl of popcorn, grab a bowl full of candy you got from Halloween, and a Slam's Ice Cold and enjoy Sal's Forum Newspaper Issue 2.

The End is Near - By: Richman99
It may be past Halloween, but why not have a spooky story to remember Halloween?
One night, three friends were coming back from a movie from a theater in India. The three friends said goodbye to each other and went back to their houses. One kid, Rockey, had to pass a creepy forest in the pitch black night. He's shocked to see an old man selling books this late at night. He tries to run away but the old man calls him back. Rockey seemed like he was being pulled to the old man. The old man asked Rockey to buy a book, and so he did. He purchased a book for about 35 US dollars. After Rockey bought the book, the old man gave him a deep and strange warning: Never turn to the last page of the book. This old man started to scare Rockey, so he ran home as fast as he could. When he got home, he asked his dad if he had heard about a man that sells books late at night. His father said that he had heard some people mention that, but he wasn't sure if it was a trick or not. Rockey said good night to his dad and went to change his clothes. When he was changed and was ready to go to bed, a storm started. This storm turned the book that Rocky bought, to the second last page. Rockey couldn't resist! He flipped to the last page... he read the last page... and fainted. On the last page, it said:
Retail price: $2 USD
My price: $35 USD

Are you in a rush and don't have time to read a full article? Well we got two small articles that are packed with information.
Yet Another Plane Crash
It is common to see planes crash. And on October 29th, 2006, another one crashes. ADC Airlines Flight 53 was planned to depart from Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja, Nigeria, then arrive at Sokoto, a state in Northern Nigeria. Right after the plane took off, it contacted the ground. The plane broke up and caught fire in a corn field. 100 passengers were on board, four of them being famous. The four dead passengers were the Sultan of Sokoto (Mohammadu Maccido), the Sultan's son Muhammed Maccido, a Nigerian senator, and Abdulrahman Shehu Shagari, the son of a former Nigerian president. Not only did this crash cause tragedy to families, it also caused tragedy to the Nigerian government.
The World Series Meets An End
On October 27th, the World Series came to an end. On October 21st, the St. Louis Cardinals won the first game, but the next day the Detroit Tigers won game two. At that point, there was no telling who would win. But after the St. Louis Cardinals won the next three games, the series was over. For the first time since 1982, the Cardinals won a world series. Coincidentally, both the 2006 and 1982 world series ended with strikeouts in St. Louis.
"I think we just shocked the world!" said Tony La Russa, right after he received the trophy.
